Our mission

The Seattle Garden Gnome is an official spokesperson for The HeartCloud Foundation. Our mission is to help displaced and older workers feeling the challenges of a difficult jobs market find their own way by starting microbusiness and being their own boss as a way to supplement income and to find purpose and dignity through work.

Our vision

Over the last few years we've had the grand fortune of helping some wonderful folks find their place in the community bringing joy and earning some extra income. Our vision is to formalize this effort and to scale it so that we can help more people. When you're hiring The Seattle Garden Gnome, The Seattle Santa, or you're buying a hat or similar? You're helping us help. We appreciate that a lot. We really do.

Gnome Fest Mini Faq

Q - Is this an official event?

A - No. I have let the market know we're coming but we're literally meeting and just roaming around. So think of it as a meet and wander. With funny hats and awards.

Q - What do you mean by awards, sanctions and proclamations?

A - There will be an award for best Gnome outfit - and a $1 cash prize!! Plus we'll be sanctioning all sorts of things. Finally and maybe most important, we will proclaim something.

Q - How can we find you?

A - I will be roaming by The Market Street Side of the Ballard Farmers Market on 10/19 from 10 to 11 before heading to Mudwood Gnomes to rally and proclaim etc. Look for a bearded fellow in a pointy red hat.

Q - Is there anything in particular that we are meeting about or for?

A - Yes. Fall Harvest... Pumpkins, vegetables and gardeners... We're rallying for them!!
